Fleury was born on November 28, 1984 in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec and grew up playing hockey at a young age. The Grade 9 standout displayed the potential as a goaltender which had scouts raving. Following an outstanding junior career with the QMJHL’s Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, he was chosen No. 1 overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2003 NHL Draft.

Fleury mae his professional debut for the Penguins in 2003-04 and quickly emerged as a critical figure. He overcame some early struggles in his career with inconsistency and injuries by being tough as nails, hard working player.
He burst onto the scene during the 2008-09 season, and played an instrumental role in a Penguins Stanley Cup for just the third time ever ending a seven-year drought.
