Stephanie White was born on June 20, 1977, in Aiken, South Carolina and had a passion for basketball early on. She went to the University of Tennessee and played under the legendary Pat Summitt. White was a star player at the collegiate level, winning All-American honors, as well as a national title with the Lady Vols in 1997.
White was then drafted by the Indiana Fever with the third pick in the 1999 WNBA Draft after winning three NCAA titles in four years at Penn State. She spent most of her playing career as a sharp shooter and leader around the perimeter with the Fever and Los Angeles Sparks.

WHITE: If you remember — since the years of his playing career really ended — White has jumped right into coaching. After diving into coaching as an assistant at her alma mater, Tennessee, she became the head coach at Indiana State University. She helped the Sycamores to remarkable improvement; a testament to her ability to both recruit and develop talent to build a successful program.
White came back to the league in 2016 as the head coach of the Indiana Fever and continued to build the platform for women’s basketball.Her coaching style has imparted lessons on player development, teamwork and perseverance that have stayed with her players.
